Kelp in the Miocene, ca. It appeared 20 million years ago and has since lived in shallow oceans, called underwater forests. It develops quickly, under ideal conditions it can grow up to half a meter a day, its total size is 30-80 meters.
It contains a lot of trace elements, large amounts of potassium and iodine. The latter is a key component of thyroid hormones and an essential component of it. The body’s ideal iodine content is vital, and iodine deficiency reduces the body’s physical and mental performance.
Its important ingredient is sodium alginate, also known in the pharmaceutical industry, which is also used successfully as an active ingredient in anti-gastric acid reflux and reflux drugs. After absorption from the digestive tract, it changes the composition of saliva so that the bacteria in the oral cavity can no longer adhere to the teeth. This prevents the formation of plaques and tartar and can also remove the tartar that has already formed, because the active substances absorbed from the seaweed break down the bacteria, so the tartar is easily removed by brushing.
It can be used as a food additive, added to cakes and as a thickener in pudding powders, soft drinks and sauces. It prevents the formation of ice crystals in ice cream.
